An intimate four-day ayahuasca retreat on Portugal’s Atlantic coast — three ceremonies held within a complete journey of preparation, integration and care.
Rio do Coração combines three evening ceremonies with thoughtful preparation, daily integration, yoga, breathwork, sound healing, nourishing vegetarian food and time in nature.
Held by highly experienced facilitators and limited to 12 participants (maximum 15), the retreat is designed as a complete arc — space to prepare, experience, reflect, integrate and connect.
We believe an ayahuasca retreat is about much more than the ceremonies themselves. The preparation beforehand, the way the experience is held, and the chance to integrate afterwards all matter.
Ceremonies held by highly experienced facilitators. We openly share their backgrounds, training and approach, and invite you to a live online Q&A before attending.
Every participant completes confidential health and medication screening. On arrival you have an individual preparation session before ceremonies begin.
Daily small-group integration and sharing circles create space to reflect on what arises and begin bringing it into everyday life.
Yoga, breathwork, sound healing and time in nature are woven throughout — to slow down, reconnect with the body and reflect between ceremonies.
Every experience with ayahuasca is individual and no outcome can be promised. People come for many reasons, which may include:
Space to explore difficult emotions, past experiences, recurring patterns and inner blocks.
Greater awareness of patterns, beliefs, relationships, purpose and identity.
Time away to reconnect with yourself, nature and others, and gain perspective on what matters.
Airport pick-up and transfer to the retreat. Settle in, meet the group and share our first meal. Each participant has an individual preparation session before we come together for the first ayahuasca ceremony that evening.
The morning begins with yoga and a small-group integration circle. Time through the day for rest, nature and reflection, alongside breathwork and sound healing, before the second ceremony that evening.
Morning yoga and integration, followed by time for breathwork, rest and nature. Optional additional offerings are available for those who choose them and for whom they are appropriate following screening. The third and closing ceremony takes place that evening.
Our final morning includes gentle yoga and a small-group integration and sharing circle. We then share a nourishing closing meal before the return transfer to Lisbon.
Our home for the retreat is a countryside estate on Portugal’s Atlantic coast, surrounded by acres of trees, orchards and open land — with abundant outdoor space, dedicated areas for yoga and practice, swimming pools and quiet corners to rest or connect. The Atlantic coast and São Lourenço Beach are nearby; Lisbon is around 45 minutes away. The exact location is shared privately with confirmed participants.
Yoga, breathwork, sound healing and time in nature are woven through the four days — creating room to reconnect with the body and reflect.
All meals are vegetarian, fresh and nourishing, with inspiration from Ayurvedic principles: wholesome and light around ceremony days, with seasonal vegetables, plant-based proteins, whole grains, soups, curries and fresh herbs. Dietary requirements can be discussed before arrival.
Accommodation is included for all three nights. Rooms are bright, comfortable and surrounded by the natural landscape.

Ayahuasca is not appropriate for everyone. All prospective participants complete confidential health and medication screening before participation is confirmed, including relevant physical and mental health history, medications and supplements.
Our experienced facilitators remain present throughout the retreat, and the intentionally small group allows for personal attention and support. If participation is not considered appropriate following screening, we will say so.
We do not believe anyone should be persuaded to take ayahuasca. We encourage you to ask questions, meet our facilitators during the online Q&A, and take your time deciding whether the experience feels right for you.
